Last night Hannah and I had our engagement party. This was held in the side room of a pub in Oundle. The jukebox was programmed to play from my preselected list, and there were about 25 fine people there to accompany us.
One person who was grand enough to show up was my sister Sue (or Suzy as she prefers to be known these days). It was the first time we had met in 15 years, so I made good mention of that in my speech! There will be a lot of catching up to do.
The cake was a joy. We had a local cake maker rustle us up a Cath Kidston Provence Rose style cake. It looked too good to cut and eat, but cut and eat we all did!
