Today I was recommended for promotion. I have been at Sainsbury’s for a year and a half, and on many occasion my work has been highly praised.

My department manager went for his appraisal with the duty manager, and was asked to share his visions of the department. One of his wishes was to see me promoted to a more senior position. The duty manager immediately agreed.

It will be the first major climb of the ladder, that’s for sure! Senior positions will never be easy, but the management obviously feel I am capable of achieving, so why not. My output has been of quality, that’s for sure. It is a gift of all gifts when your efforts are recognised. So here's to progress.
